I have a bone to pick with Diamond Multimedia.

It all started around a week ago. I went and bought Empire Earth for my PC and came home all happy, installed the game and began play. I get all the way to the start of a random map and my computer freezes up.

I call the Sierra Tech line and find out i need new video card drivers. So i go to Diamond multimedia's web site and what do my eye see. SonicBlue, some company that took over Diamond.

I go looking around the site for drivers for my video card and find them but, the latest on they had came out in October 2000. I have drivers that came around in 2001. So now i got a 50 dollar game i can't play and an outdated set of drivers for my video card.

No if any one can find drivers for A Diamond Viper v770 non-ultra/ultra. please post a link or some thing. Just any drivers that were released post August 2001 for that card.

Diamond Viper 770 graphic card is based on nVidia Riva TNT 2 graphic chip, and therefore you can use the latest drivers directly from nVidia: http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=drivers

Yeah what Max said. I always run the refrence drivers for my cards.

Also when I did tech support for a game company it was my experience that hard locks, the kind which you're experiencing are usually the result of old sound card drivers. Just to cover all your bases I'd update your version of DirectX, and both your sound and video card drivers.
