Recently a friend of mine has had several nasty emails sent from his Hotmail account. He hasn't givin out his password to anyone it it is really long, 14 characters. There is nothing is in his sent email box. Is there any way to increase the security for hotmail accounts or to prove that he didn't send the email to the person? |

Is he sure they were sent from there and they didn't just have his email address as the reply to:? Something similar happened to me (I suddenyl recieved a big load of bounced spam email with my address in the reply to slot) - I sent the offendign material to the people in charge at the time and they looked at the headers and informed me if there was a problem to forward any angry mail to them and they'd confirm that I wasn't the original source. |

I think the problem is that a decent email provider would help cover your ass when people start complaining but if you are with HotMail well............ |

Thanks for the help here. This should be enough to work and to try and get my friend and his friend talking again. |

Turn the header option to its most advanced setting, and then open the message. You'll see a bunch of stuff at the top, including lines like: |
