Hey there, having some trouble here with an executable file crashing everytime I start a W2k laptop. When starting the computer a DOS box hangs and pages Dr Watson. The DOS window and error message both call the executable DIT.EXE. I'm having trouble getting any info on this, everything I find appears to be in the Dutch language, not sure it's Dutch but there's lots of double vowels thrown around.

Can anyone check it out for me and lemme know what's the deal?

I'll continue poking around but figgered I oughta post this here since what little I've been able to understand in the results either has to do with hacking, virii or porn so... the quicker the better I reckon, we're battling a small virus outbreak here as I type.

Thanks for any help.

I guess that you're getting a lof of Dutch sites as result, because "dit" probably means "the" or "that" in Dutch language (and your "dit.exe" becomes "the exe" or "that exe"). So, I don't know if all those Dutch sites would provide you with the answer...

But, I managed to find out that DIT.EXE file exists in Intel's RAID drivers, which can be found on this page: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/Detail_Desc.asp?ProductID=487&DwnldID=1713 Maybe you can get some help from there...

somewhat enlightening there maX, thanks. That was actually a RAID troubleshooting utility and I've done a fresh format on that laptop just last week, all I'd installed on it since is Office2k and some digicam utilities so I dun think it had anything to do with RAID stuff, I'm a little confused but reformatting it just cuz, no biggie, it's a just a test machine.

Still wouldn't mind confirmation on all that utch crap tho, I know we have a few dutchmen round heah

'dit' is indeed a dutch word, and none of the sites on the google page actually had anything to do with the problem. Sorry 'bout that.
