A little clarification please... is a "blog" just one of those sites where people have their rants... no other content, just rants?

If so I would like to know where they have cheap hosting for sites like these (and by cheap i mean free). Does anyone know anything about these?

Instead of rambling for a few pages with distgruntled words Im going to tell you one thing:

.. unless you like popup ads, ample down time, a slow + clogged server then Im sure you can find something to suit. Dont go near f2s.com or portland.co.uk
.. look for ISPs.. you might be able to get away with no banners.
eircom.net is our main irish telco (shit heads) they offer hosting pretend you dial up with them etc.. shouldnt be too hard. You dont have a chance in hell at getting any CGI features with any free places by the way.

"blog" is just a contraction of "weblog". It's basically a describer for personal (or not) web based logs/journals/diaries. They got popular for quite a while, spawning a bit of a cliche as to what qualified as a blog. Usually they're link rich with personal (or work, or tech etc. etc.) stories/anecdotes/insights.

Bitch and rant? If you want to...but I doubt it'll get much play for traffic then, unless it's damned funny.

If you just want a blog itself, http://www.livejournal.com is a place to look, or http://www.deviantart.com has a journal feature of their accounts and a nice place for your images...if you make anything.

http://www.diaryland.com/ is also a great place for you to setup a blog.

Yeah, I basically use my blog for bitching, and it's not really all that funny. Of course, I don't expect anyone to actually waste their time reading it
