Hey guys! I'm rather new to the forum so I thought I might take a little bit o'time to say hello and tell about myself. I've always found it easier to help people whose motivations I understand. . . so. . .ya. I'm just about to start college. I'll be attending Texas A&M and taking the "viz" route of the Environmental Design major. Ok, so that doesn't make much sence unless you've been initiated into the program personally. Basically, I'm an architecture major. However, the route I'm taking never really focuses on architecture (sp?) but rather deals with many broad aspects of design. This course is a lead-in to the masters program known as "Viz-Lab." This program is my dream. It is supposed to be one of the top schools for computer animation/design in the country and boasts over a 99% job placement among it's graduates. The problem then? I'm not in yet. I have four years to get to the point where they want ME and not the other way around.

I wanted to say all that for a couple of reasons. First, I love to talk about it. I'm excited! Second, I want to know if any of you members here are either graduates or enrolled in the Viz-Lab. Third, like I said before, you might be more receptive to my requests (sometimes PLEAS) for help if you know that I am serious about wanting to learn and also share what knowledge I have.

Most of the work I do is in PhotoShop, so I will most likely be posting there more than anywhere else. My ultimate goal is to get into special effects for movies and I haven't really gotten into 3d programs for fear that I would develop bad habits/learn how to do things the hard way and then have to un-learn later.

I know I am rambling, but I figured that if I was going to ramble that this was the forum to do it in. ANY responses to this would be appreciated. Your thoughts. . . all thoughts are valuable to me in the sense that all knowledge will help me to my goals. So please, ramble on beneath me. . OH! and let me know if there is a way to upload my art to this site, or another place that I can do it so I can get critiques and such.

Actually after reading through this, I think it might just belong in philosophy or maybe another more appropriate forum. I dunno. You admins decide eh?

All right, inane comments, what I do best
Lots of things full of emptiness, lots of room for vacancy here. Especially some of the people. Unless they're not, then they're only half. I wonder what it's like to be a piece of cheese.
