winamp3 is here

it features free form skins, color shemes, a video player, a new playlist editor and many other new preferences

i was against wa3 all the time but today i tried the full version, yeah itz fine. i like it more and more.
the biggest problem still is, that it eats my system ressources and that it doesn't support all of the old skins.

I do rather WinAmp 2. I use winamp just for the low system resources eating, and I don't see why changing to 3.

Nice.....I was running V 2.78 I needed a good update. I will have to try it out I just hope that it works as smooth as the older version.

I have nothing against Winamp (although I don't have it installed in my computer) but I use Windows Media Player to play my mp3 files. I'm not an mp3 power user: I just want to play my mp3 files with a player that has a good graphics equalizer.

Bla it's to much fluff for me. I'll stick it out with winamp 2 till a good skin I lik comes a long for 3, or somthing that I can't live with out .

I don't know if I am stupid or if Winamp is stupid.
I downloaded Winamp 3 and install it to give it a shot. During the installation process, I configured Winamp to NOT mess with my .mp3, .wav and video files extensions, i.e., do not steal the extension from the current default program (WMP). So I thought I was configuring.
Guess what? After it was installed, it doesn't recognize these extensions. It does not play my mp3 files. This stupid program won't last another minute in my system. Goodbye, fairwell, nice meeting you Winamp. I'll stick with my WMP.

eh, Winamp 2 is just right, I tried winamp 3 and it was *ok* just to much stuff that I don't want to deal with really. WINAMP 2 fer me!

yes, i think you're right, there are also some things which are just annoying me

but the new media library and the new playlist editor are just fine!

I got Wa 3 last night and hers my opinion:
It looks great ! it does have a few cool extra features like sorting your playlist by date or by name etc..
But on the other hand 4 + 6 on the numpad for forward and back doesnt work ! which is so annoying when its what your used to(you use Z + B now).
And its really slow and annoying the crossfading doesnt work very well , it did on v2 ???

so in the end, I went back to v2 its has all you need !

oh and it has anti-aliasing on the edges of the skins .. if the skin supports it, the few skins available dont.

oh and it says it plays videos without saying what type so I assumed it went by whatever mpg CODECs you have, but all it does is either play a seconds worth stall and stop or if it doesnt do that it plays the video rotated 180¢ª ?? its messed up and useless for video playback.

I have been trying Winamp 3 for the past day and no problems yet. About the only feature that I like is the new skinning for it. I also like the quick pick feature for the playlists...good if you have a big playlist like mine..... 4981
