Sorry my stupid question but I know nothing about UNIX and I want to know if it's possible to install this Operating System in a Pentium III machine, along with Windows XP, for instance, in a multibootable configuration.

I know that this is possible using Linux, but is UNIX the same as Linux?

If I can install UNIX in this my computer, this very one I'm using right now, how do I do it? Where to download the software?

Another question: is JBuilder, from Borland, a good product to help developing using Java?

Not sure about the Unix thing, sorry.

Our team is using JBuilder. We've been using it for a while, and it's worked for us. Its got a nice amount of features for both the beginning developer and the advanced user (IMO). It should work out for you as well. If all else fails, you can use the JDK Sun develops.

FYI, we are switching over to IntelliJ in the near future, for its refactoring capabilities. That may be another IDE to look into, if you're interested.

Dunno about JBuilder but as to the Unix questions
Unix is an expensive OS and actually not really used much anymore if you want a dual boot Unix clone check out FreeBSD it's based on the Unix BSD offshoot. or any of the Linux flavors (I'm partial to mandrake but you could easily go with RedHat which is by far the most popular I just think Mandrake is easier to install), if you learn one of those switching to Unix is a breeze. If you want a dual boot, just install windows first and then install your *nix clone, most of them will handle creating the dualboot stuff for you automatically (installing linux then windows isn't recommended since Windows likes to hose any other OS's installed.)
