checked slipstick.com for answers (thanks for the link Pugz) and could not find it....

I created a new TASKS folder under my main folder, wanted to share it with 2 other people on the same Exchange server. Come to find out I cannot share a subfolder. To remedy this, I moved my tasks to the subfolder and gave they guys Publishing Author permissions on the main tasks folder and we'll share there.

The only way I've found for them to access this shared task list is to go to File/Open/Other User's Folder... and pop it in a new window from there. This is almost a solution, I'd much rather have it automatically appear as a folder in their mailbox like a Public Folder would but from what I've been able to find out, this is not going to happen.

The next best thing would be to have this folder open automatically whenever Outlook is launched. Can anyone gimme a good way to make this happen? Or was this post too long?

thanks

Jason

Export the list to a shared folder on the network and then they can import from that folder.

Same applies to 'common' mailboxes, if you need them.

Who says you can't share a subfolder? The problem is that you have to share the parent folder as well.

What I'd do is share the parent folder with the least rights, then share the subfolder with the rights you want to give them.

I'm not near an Exchange connected client machine right now, but you can go to the HELP and search for
"sharing a folder", then choose "Permit others to access a folder"

then, the other users can do this:

Add another person's mailbox to your account
This feature requires Microsoft Exchange.

If you are a delegate and routinely respond to e-mail for someone else, you may want to add their mailbox to your account for quick access. You must have been granted at least reviewer permission to open their mailbox and see it in your Folder List.

On the Tools menu, click E-Mail Accounts.
Click View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next.
In the list, click the Exchange account type, and then click Change.
Click More Settings, and then click the Advanced tab.
Click Add, and then type the mailbox name of the person whose mailbox you want to add to your user profile. If you do not know the mailbox name of the person, contact your administrator.

I should have said I was trying to stay away from mailbox sharing issues. I'm trying for this single folder, in my mailbox. I think this is what Public Folders was meant for and why it's seemingly not possible on a peer basis.

Unfortunately we're in the middle of a systems migration that includes thousands of users so the crew implementing the Exchange servers have plenty to do before they start doling out Public Folders and what not.

I reckon this is what the ol intranet is for, but all I have available there is ASP =P
