anyone know how that is possible with dosgames running under winXP?

i already tried print and alt+print and a special screen capture tool.

even better would it be to capture a whole video.

It's odd that it's not working for you.

In WinXP, the DOS command line exists within the windows shell and as such, can be 'Print Screen'-d.
I have taken many screen captures this way, without error.

Anyways: you could try this site.

yes, snagit was what i meant with "special screen capture tool"

but what do you mean with 'PrintScreen'-d should i type that in the command line?

I merely meant that the 'Print Screen' function should work for a DOS window in XP.

Sorry for confusion.

Have you tried this:

Start game, [alt]+[tab] into WINDOWS
Change the DOS window size to a few pixels less than your screen size
Bring WINDOWS into focus, but keep the full(ish) DOS window open
Print screen

That should do it - failing that, I'm sorry, but I can be of no further assistance.

yes, i had that idea too, but i think its not possible with games. only with text-orientated dos apps.

I used to use alt + enter all the time to reduce the dos window size.

doesnt work for me too.

alt and enter are keys that are used in the game.

no...
that normally takes me back to my desktop opening the start menu.

i think that games just cannot run in windowed mode just like text applications.

well, PrintScreen should work only when in windows mode (like when you said press ALT-ENTER to make it windowed) ...

I used to use a program called "Screen Thief" (st.exe) to get screenshots of dos games when there was not even windows 95!

I doubt that ST.EXE still works on WinXP, cause I needs pure dos mode to operate.
