Ya know how ya need a crossover cable if you have two network cards + no hub to join two computers up. Do you think it would be possible to use the TCP IP protocol over between two computers with two modems using a crossed-over phone cable ? It would be more fr the fun to see if it works than to solve a problem or anything. |

Umm... I don't think so. That would be like hooking up two phones to one another to talk though. It just doesn't really work like that. |

mmh, USB networking ? I've never heard of that. But Only one of the computers has a USB port anyway. Yea, connecting two phones together doesnt work, but if you connect up a 9v Battery and a 33Ohm resister I heard that can get them to work. |

If you're determined enough, you can make just about anything work, but why? |

Yes, you'll need to power them. Most phones are powerd by the phone line itself so I'd assume some parts of the modem would at the same. At least it would expect to get a powerd signal of some kind. I don't really know jack about how phone lines work though so I'd have no idea how you figure out what number to dial or how you'd go about writing software to trik the computer into thinking it's already dialed and connected. |

Drac: Yea, they usually do , an old computer I have has the pins on the board to hook up a port, but the pc in question has only a place for the pins like they where all picked out or something. |
