Nice issue of Digital Web Magazine up right now, with the Web Standards Project (WaSP) Steering Committee making a big show of standards compliance reasoning.

Plus some hack from around here did the cover art.

And the sad note: This rings in my official (but longcoming) departure from DW. Time and tide...friend to no man. It was definitely fun, and I'll still read religiously as the site is a wellspring of great knowledge and viewpoints.

You?re leaving DW too? But with both you and Stephen gone I'll have to look elsewhere to get my monthly dose of cynicism?

Same direction I've been heading in all along actually. Graphic Design. Just more and more emphasis on the breadth of that.

I've been completely immersed in print for a while now, with very little to do with the net anymore. I'll keep up on topics and the occasional thread, but full scale GD and a life in reality really sucks the time from a day

That said, I still believe in the "mission" of the WaSP, so designing their logo, and doing this was more pleasure than anything else.

**EDIT : : DS, the "yellow-orange" bars represent the graph mapping that shows the level of standards compliance from various browsers, sites, and site building tools. All poised over an interconnecting hive. Each cell individual, yet sharing key structure and function.

Dig? **

The poster has demanded we remove all his contributions, less he takes legal action.
We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.
Don't follow his example - seek real life help first.

Yeah, I know. Fitting all things in schedule is still a failing of mine. Synax is liable to explode if I don't get time to pick up the tablet.

I'm working on it.

The Path is done. For now, for the foreseeable future.
I'll have a portfolio site up soon, with a place to store random leakings from my brain, but nothing so intimate as that was. Plus, maybe I'm much happier these days. ~cough~

Oh...... awwww...hmmmm that's what the yellow bars are, nice!!!! I like meaning in art !!!

And ya go for print side of stuff!!! or both web and print if you like. I started out in web stuff, now learning all about print and graphic design. I find it much more rewarding than web work and plus you have something you can hold in you hands and enjoy too , or is that just me??....hhhmmm awww well!!!!.

I, also, am seeing DW for the first time. That's a definite bookmark--ah, screw the bookmark, that's going on my start page!

For those of you who missed it, all of Stephen's articles can be seen here:
www.digital-web.com/columns/digisect/

And because I know pete will never blatantly flog himself off in here I'll post his stuff for you:
www.digital-web.com/columns/prodotcon/

Oh pete, you might want to mention that it's kind of impossible to find the old Digisect and Prodotcon articles now that they have new columnists to fill the void. I couldn't find them through the site's menus but maybe I'm just blind -- I had to go through Stephen's personal site to actually get there.

You doing print stuff now? Way wicked. I hope if works out for you. Try not to be too much of a stephe.. errr stranger!

Yeah Drac, it can be a bit of a bastard to find "archives" these days.

Stephen and I are still listed under the Profiles though, so that's something at least.

My time with DWM was great. There's great people that work there, and it's still a stellar resource. The contacts and friends I've made through that opportunity are indispensable. I doubt I'd be designing logos for WaSP unless half the committee knew who I was through that and a few other groups I've been involved with.

Definitely keep Digital Web as a start page...it's chock full 'o' goodness.

Thanks guys

Peter

I'll never let it rest, DG...never. The Path was...unique. I've bothered you since it went down...because there is nothing like it. Nothing. But should it never come again...at least, thanks that it was there. Hope to see you in the halls...without you, this place would be...somewhat empty...

Hehe....Darkzilla lives...
