lallous: Nice find - I could imagine people looking around for a solution like this and have added it to the FAQ:

There are a few other similar programs that are worth mentioning:

FetchYahoo: http://web.mit.edu/ravir/fetchyahoo/index.html
Yahoo Mail sucker (YoSucker): http://yosucker.sourceforge.net/

yahoo2mbox - Archiver for Yahoo! Groups: http://www.lpthe.jussieu.fr/~zeitlin/yahoo2mbox.html (This program can be useful to people who are subscribed to mailing lists that are hosted on Yahoo! Groups and would like to have an offline version of their archives)

yes, YahooPops was born because of FetchYahoo perl script!

and what's good about YahooPop is that it is for windows and sounds promising...
know any other good ones for windows?

Just wondering is there anything similar to this, except web based, like I could put it up on my server and check my email through my site, rather than going through yahoo?

fizgig, rtm, rtm!

basically after you run it, it will be like a pop3 server...so you setup your email client while setting that your pop3 server is: localhost (your machine).
it has instructions on how to setup different mail clients.

mann, yes there is...Fetchmail is a perl script try to make it run on your server (but it will have to run as a daemon)
