Is there any way I can stop windows making all of those "My xxxxxxxx" Folders in the My Documents folder?

You know, the My Pictures, My Music, My Video, My Ebooks... I don't want to store my data like that and their really annoying me.

I just made my own folders on a separate partition. I would just leave the default folders as they are and not use them. I think I once tried deleting them and ended screwing something up. There's no law that says you have to use them. Granted, it is kind of annoying how they pop up as the default sometimes, but I've learned to live with it.

You can use Microsoft's TweakUI to change these Special Folders' locations - I always do that right after installing Windows. Have a look at microsoft.com or Google, you can get it from many sites. And if you've changed C:\My Documents to F:\ or something else, Windows will let you delete C:\My Documents if I'm not mistaken. Wait, I'll see if I can delete it... yup, works for me.

Interesting... I'll have to look into that.

TweakUI is one of the best things sliced bread. Really. It's unsupported because it's a developer tool that was released to the public, but I've had no problems with using it all the way from Win98 to Win2k AS.

Enjoy.

Sounds good. I'll have to nab that and try it out. =)
