XP users; you know how whenever a program crashes and you end it, a dialog pops up asking if you want to send a bug report to microsoft? Does anyone know of a trick to keep that dialog from appearing? It's just a nuisance to me. |

Umm what are you trying to open it with? File extensions (afaik) are necessary for windows to open files with their assciated programs. If you just want to open files with a text editor then right click it and either select "open" or "open with" if open with works then just select the correct program if open then you should get a dialog box which will give you an option to select the program with which to asociate the file. |

You can also use this little tool http://www.xp-antispy.de/XPAntiSpy3-English.zip It gives you easy access to disable this and other "nifty" XP-functions |

bit: yeah! that's how it's done on w2k, on XP there's no "open with" option, it asks you i you wanna go to the net to figger out what to open it with or choose a prog from a list, you have to tick the radio and hit OK button to move on to the same ol' list of apps (yeah, text editor) |

JK: that is wierd, on XP I get (at least I think I get) the option of opening files with Notepad and a couple other programs. I'll check as soon as I get back to my home copmuter. |
