I have an extremely good chance of getting a dream internship at NYC mayor Micheal Bloombers office this summer. The only thing really holding me back is not a stellar resume. Since I've never really had to apply for an internship before I'm curious if theres anything I can do within the next few months that could help improve my chances. |

Well... Nothing I can think of in particular. It would have to be related to what you're going to do in his office(which is what BTW?). I would think that anything that you could do in three months wouldn't constitute enough vested interest in said action to really make him blink, but I could be wrong. it depends on what it is that you're looking for. I guess I would go over what is on your resume currently and make sure it looks it's best. Get your resume on his desk before anyone elses(If this is a school related thing it makes a difference), deliver it by hand(you needn't speak to him but the fact that you took the time to physically be there shows your particular interest) be prepared for an impromptu interview though. |

It might increase your chances if you get his name right. |

Get your current resume as polished as possible before delivery. Try to word your work history so that it doesn't show gaps. |
