We have been kicking around ideas for some workshops over at the GN dealing with various things (see the end of this post for more info on the other ideas) and Fig has started the first one off on design.

I would encourage any inmate interested in design to participate in this one. I've been working on my compositions and tossing around some ideas in the discussion thread, and it's a lot of fun. I'd love to see a bunch of people get involved in this.

(OK, I'll admit it: my motives are selfish. The more talented people participate, the more I learn.

Actually, I was referring to the discussion thread... I wouldn't want to look at other people's submissions until I've finished mine.

However, I was hoping that we'd be able to look at each other's compositions when the assignment is finished, just to get an idea of how different people interpret the same concepts. Or was that not part of the program?

I know I avoided db's WIP and I was very nearly caught out by krets but I'd already decided that it would be unwise to hit the last post button

Heh, you don't want to copy off of me, not unless you really want an F on your first assignment.

Looking at other peoples work is part of the learning process. You'll likely find that while working on yours you will come up with your own ideas and your own ways or expressing meaning. Knowing what other people think "order" or "chaos" looks like is half of it, and why doing things like this in groups is a great idea.

Anyways, I'm in. Even though I've done a lot of this before, it's fun to do it again.
