Ack! How can I live this way, what will I do? My internet went down Monday evening, and here it is Wednesday, still no internet. If we're lucky I'll be back online tomorrow, if not? ARRGHHhhhhh!!!!! Internet cafés are good things, but really, no substitute for the "real thing". (I'm trying to work on two different sites, both of which are half client/half server based code, so it's *really* hard to do my work, too! Life sucks with no internet.)

If it's not fixed by tomrrow just hold on there. Or just ask Emp for his internet socketed. I think it's at the of his head I think , hehe!!!

Well I hope you get back, all normal and 'CONNECTED'!!

I think we need to use some of the old techniques? I have a couple of tin cans and some string although that might be a little low tech for the internet - how about a pad of paper and a pen and you can draw the Internet and stick it on to the front of your monitor

Hope they fix the connection soon. I had problems connecting to a lot of different sites (Google, the Asylum etc.) last week and I thought that was bad. Can only image what this is like.. *shudders*

Yeah doc, bad thing...
I using different conections this year, since i dropped my phone line, and internetcafés or things like that are good for surfing and reading mail. Not for working...
Hopefully you get online soon.

Internet by a brain implant and a wireless conection seems a good idea to invent.

Why do they feel the need to identify not just hte public, but researchers, historians and scholars particlarly...are they better than us or something. Cause if they are and I didn't get the memo....

Um, yes, last I checked, we are better than you.

I think it was worded that way because they felt researchers, historians and scholars would be particularly interested in such an archive.... I probably wouldn't have thought twice about it if you hadn't said anything.

[Edit: Grammar... *sigh* We may be better than you, but we still can't type a grammatically correct sentence...]

I'm back! Yes, now I re-enter the world of those who have not one, but *two* different braodband connections! (Why, you ask? Well, only one of them works right now, so that says it all.) It'll still be 4 more days before what used to be my primary connection (ADSL) is back, so we signed up for a cable internet connection, which took only 2.5 days, hooray!

BTW, yes, I *do* have my own internet, don't you? Once I lost conctact with the rest of it, I set up my local Apache servers to host the 8 or 9 sites that were sitting here all ready to run, inside my network. I actually set my top linkbar in IE to list these sites, and then I went and looked at them! Now if that's not sick, well...

It's funny all the stuff I missed, most of it pointless. The stock market went up! The stock market went down. The Democrats are heroes! The Democrats are idiots. (Squandering the legacy of Paul Wellstone, the first guy I voted for who ever won an election. Ventura was the second. =) Iraq is full of bad people! So is America. I got 38 viruses in the mail. I also recieved 567 spams. I got 7 real emails and one Stan's NetChess challenge.

It's nice to be back. Now I can go back to being my usual, connected self! You may or may not notice the difference, but *I* will!
