what is?

well, thanks to those special asylumnites, pretty much anything anyone would want to know about all things ozone.



as a result, the FAQ are often referred to in threads - and rightly so, this is their purpose.

what i propose is the creation of an aslum-approved "it's in the FAQ!" logo for use in threads, which people can then link to the FAQ that they are prescribing for whatever question arose.

...we could always have a less friendly "RTFFAQ" logo, if any of you less happy asylumnites wanted to create a logo instead!

what do you guys think?

personally, i think it would be best if we all just used the one logo - it would create a nice motif through the entire asylum.

...it could then be a good competition opportunity...

I saw some mention of this in the slimie FAQ earlier tonight.

I could handle it.
I'm more interested in the first couple of people giving their opinions in a thread prior to seeing the FAQ link, though.

The FAQ link should be secondary.... as communication and interaction should be primary.
That's what keeps up coming back.

I disagree (fwiw) a nice button is kosha, but linking directly to the FAQ in question is 'silver platter' treatment. Linking to the FAQ home page would be ok. (it would be nice t think that ppl can at least do some foot work by themselves)

vp - it is silber platter treatment, but it is what people are already doing.... and i figure if you can't be bothered looking for them (which is fair enough), you can just link to the FAQ home.

...i just thought it would be a cute way to link to the fab faq that the asylum has.

michael - i know what you mean about faq referral vs interaction, but if someone asks a.. well, a frequently asked question, then the general behavious is to fwd the asker to the entry. the only way i could see a logo affecting this is if it perhaps encourages people to do this too often.

Great idea! Would help out immensely, I think...as maybe more people would be willing to use it.

reitsma: Its a good idea - it won't interupt the flow of the thread and we can eventually create a bit of UBB like:

Wow, yeah, that would be handy. In the interest of proper syntax, though (starting and closing tags), what about [faq]53[/faq]? I know we're not at that stage yet, of course...

I think we should move the faq to mongolia, then everyone will know because everyones going there anyhow

awesome idea. I would definitely use it. I must say . . .am continuously amazed at the effort and care that goes into this forum. Blows me away sometimes. Thank God my web design instructor told me about you guys 3 years ago! Best damn forum out there!
