I've been getting buy without Nero or any other CD burning software fow a while now by just using windows. But now I want to make a copy of an audio CD and there doesn't seem to be anyway to do it. I'm afraid to just grab the files from one CD and drag them onto the CD-R because I don't know if it'll make an audio CD. Windows Media player allows me to copy from a cd and to a cd but never both at the same time it seems. Anyone know of a way to backup CDs just using windows?

I think that I'm confused. You are wanting to copy an audio CD? I think that you answered your own question by using Windows Media player.

Or am I reading this wrong

Never mind, I found my CD burning software CD after all. What I was trying to do was copy a CD from one CD drive to the other without saving to the PC at all which I would have had to do If I used media player.

Yeah, that's called "on the fly" CD copying.

I tried that a couple of times way back in the day and it always spit out coasters.

Of course I don't copy that much and have a slow Yamaha 4x4x16, so I'm not saying it isn't possible or anything.
