G'day peoples,

I'm doing some research on a site of my company's that requires 128 bit encryption, and for it, i need older browsers that have lower levels of encyption.

now, i've found an NN4 with 40 bit encyption, but every version of IE i've gotten my hands on - whether it be 5.0, 4, or even 3 - have service packs already applied to them so that they have 128 bit encryption.

i've found an IE 2 with less encryption, but that's really not much use to me!

i was wondering if anyone would know where to get a version of IE 5.0xxxx with 56 bit encryption? I've seen screenshots of one, but that's about it, as lots of people who did have it applied the SP's, and can no longer demote it back to 56k.

I know that you can find it on old cd's (like office 97 perhaps?), but i don't have any.

so, can anyone help?

thanks in advance,

docilebob

Looks like from this article, that you can uninstall it and then it should default back to the 56 bit encryption. Didn't have a lot of time to go over it but I *think* that it may have some useful info.
