Service pack 1 or not, typing this line (from that doc) at a command prompt always worked for me: RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove |

and I just remove the Messenger directory from Program Files and never hear from it again. |
