I think that Download Accelerator is the bandwidth stealing, adware infested program that attempts (unsuccessfully, I might add), to speed up your downloads. |

it basically makes multiple contacts with the file server through psuedo aliases and downloads the file through multiple streams, all at the one time, clogging the server's upstream bandwidth and preventing other people making contact and downloading the files. |

If all you need is the ability to track your current downloads and resume broken ones, allow me to suggest Opera, which has a friendly built-in download manager. "Man, PT... everything comes back to Opera with you, doesn't it?" |

Bugs: If you know these guys, point them to mod_throttle. My hosting service has version 3.1.2 running on Apache 1.3.27 under FreeBSD. Works just the nuts. quote: I just love the idea of leaving the words "bork edition" in site logs all over the place. But then, I'm easily amused. I got it for the novelty, but when it took my registration code, well, I don't use the vanilla version any more. Bork, bork, bork! |
