I dont understand why the doctor is being disciplined. How could he have mitigated damages? Should he have corked the guy? Had a fire extinguisher on hand?

Wes: I don't know if you're joking or not, so here's a touch of info.

An Electric Knife, or Electric Scalpel as it's more properly known is, in fact, an actual medical device. It consists of a thin resistive wire that heats up the scalpel blade when activated and allows it to cut the flesh while cauterising the wound as it goes. It is often used not just for removing moles but also for removing cancerous growths becuase it has the ability to keep any of the blood, which may contain malignant cells, to spread anywhere else and cause more growths.

Meanwhile, though...I think the guy deserved what he got. How'd you like it if oyu were performing delicate surgery and this guy, who would have been concious (they would only have used a local anaesthetic for a job like this), lets one rip right in your face.
