I went back and played around with the plasma effect seen at http://www.photoshoptechniques.com and ended up with this. It's too big for a sig so I won't be using it.

Funny thing, this thing looked fine when I looked at it in IE before I posted here. I'm going back to the drawing board. If I decide to make it a sig I'll post it there.

jaggies and mayhap size aside I do like it tho'. have you tried rotating the whole thing (360deg animation) with the plasma still running? (Oooo i think I'll try that myself)

I figured out where the jaggies originated. I'll work on a 100 px tall one next.

Will do soon, but have to replace my graphic card first, so it may be a few days.
(I can see, the view is marred with shadowy lines and such, but I just don't trust my graphical output right now...)
