my client is a yoga teacher and wants to use a pink bg on home and inside pages describing what she does, her inspiration, teachers, etc. What do you guys think about a colored bg using white type? I normally use white or light bg and black text. I guess its ok as long as its legible . . . what do you think? It?s a dark pink like this

Thanks.

this is the web, electronic media. No paper involved.

A web design, as you know, is made to support the content. As long as the text is easy to read, and the design supports the text and the subject of the webpage, your cool and froody.

I think that would work, just keep the contrast between the leters and the background high. That black text almost works, it is just to soft, as it is part of the picture...

There is no set way though, you gotta try this / that / and something over there... until you find what does work.

Anything is doable... and almost anything can be made to look great.

the color works well with the picture of Ganesha. i think you can certainly make the pink work as a background for the text.

Is the text going to be in html or part of the pic? I would actually try to do it part of the html. that black text at the bottom is a tad light IMHO.

i think this may be in the wrong form

I would say that black is a more legible color to use on the dark pink #FF6699 you have on the left of that page. I think white can work but it won't be as legible as black, IMO.

what about using a really light pink instead of #FFFFFF...it may not have as harsh of an appearance then when viewed.

Thanx,
