Woohoo! I know it's expensive, but I very much in favor of expanding our footprint in space. This recent success is a very good thing for the space program. These pictures we're getting are so clear and should really help us to understand the history of Mars so much better.

[edit]
On a negative note, am I the only one who is disturbed by pictures like this one?

This kind of emotional outburst from scientists really gets under my skin. I mean what would Mr. Spock think?

This is good news for NASA that's for sure. NASA has been on the burner for a while.

I'd like to have some 3D glasses to check out those 3D pics

Indeed the pictures are quite detailed, and that's a great thing to boost the space program.

We can even see the antenas on the ETs head.

sorry

The scientist have a high pressure, and work on the project during several years, so it's human to unleash the pressure when the things goes like a charm.

Bleh, I'm all for space exploration but now is not the time. The whole Iraqi war trashed our economy and budget surpless, I don't know where all this money is coming from. Even if money is no object (and to Bush it appears not to be) I think there are more pressing issues that could use the dough. Putting the money into education would probably have more scientific returns in the long run than space exploration. Or what about cancer research? I try to be an optimist though, so looking on the bright side, at least we're not speneding that money on another war.

More money into education? American education? In the American education system? HAHA!

Money doesn't improve education. Educators do.

This is why all the good teachers are in private schools, because they
get paid more money. The better someone is at their job, the higher
wage they demand, thus, all the good teachers, who realize that the public
school is not paying enough and who are sick of all the politics that go along
with teaching, move into the private sector. Anyway, yea....NaSa rocks...........

I like the picture of a penny from the "microscopic imager."

I could take a better picture with my digital camera and I'm sure it cost a whole lot less.
