no review...I was commenting on how much this individuals site appears to be ripping Gabo's old Flash design...

Then I think the page should be moved to the 'Ozone' forum, since this is a place for page reviews.

btw, anyone know how the RipperReport project is coming along? Haven't heard anything about that one in ages...

I don't know, but that main navigation is annoying, moving around like that.

I've seen that eye4u website a long time ago ( well ~2 years ). It already had that cheap design and sounds.

interesting, i have been knowing this site for quite a while, but i didn't know that it might be a RIP

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I read that as RIP as in "Rest In Peace" and I was pondering why it looked so much alive.

Not having seen gabocorp.com 5 years ago I can't comment.

I've known about this site for some time, perhaps 3-4 years now. It was one of the sites generating the buzz about flash 4 I believe. Perhaps it was gabocorp that ripped this site. It was quite well know on the "top flash sites" back then which is the only reason I remember it.

I dunno Cameron.. I seem to remember Gabocorps site back in -98.. but I might be senile....

well the point as I see it was that I came across the site that appears to RIP gabo's old site design and I thought I'd mention it as other people in these halls have done before when they run across RIPs...any harm in doing that?

Boudga - Definitely similar to his old "revolver" flash some years back but I don't think you could say it was a rip. For one, its no where near the level of Gabocorp.com. I would say heavily inspired though.

Any-which-way, my point is - since nobody seems to be able to even recall, and since nothing I saw at the site looked like anything I saw in the archive for gabo....how can we call this a rip?

Reporting on a rip is one thing. Posting a site which may....or.....may not.....be similar to a site that existed 5 years ago delves deep into a totally different category.

Sum all this up as "....I don't get it."

Well if you are going to be accusing people of actually ripping a site (as in ripping it off or ripping it from its site and putting it on yours) then yes it pretty much as to be - accusations of content theft are pretty serious and there has to be some rock-solid grounds for it.

"Heavily inspired by" is a different matter entirely.
