I think this question could be better, and appropriatly handled at a different forum.

You may want to drop the question over at tek-tips. Most of the people here are not PERL gurus as if you go to Tek-Tips they will be (if you go to the perl forum). I do believe you need to become a member first, which is not difficult, and will probabally make your experience a lot easier.
