I already know that the answer to my question is 'NO', but I'll ask anyway!

Is there any way of rotating an object (an <IMG> or <DIV> layer) on a web-page.

My idea is to rotate a link thought 360 degrees onMouseOver. Is this possible in DHTML.
If not, (which I think very likely), does anyone have some kind of work around (other than flicking though a series of .gif images) which could achieve this effect?

While we're on the subject, does anyone know if the W3C is working on developing a solution for this?

Cheers

I'm afraid not. I think, in IE, there may be a way to do 90, 180, and 270 degree rotations with stylesheets, but nothing as complicated as what you want. Sorry!

Don't know about the W3C's thoughts on this.

i think w3c has some cool stuff in "development" and one of them is SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) which will be very cool(imho) and probbably will do what you're asking.
btw: illustrator 9 can export to svg

There is no spoon...sort of speaking
