You need to use some server-side language in order to create web site counter (it can't be done with DHTML/JavaScript, since JS is client-side language). |

And stay away from hosted counters. They are not accurate. Server side statistics software is still the best. |

when your host is like geocities or some other free ones, 3rd party visitor counters may be the only ones you can depend on. I use www.thecounter.com. It's free (used to), i just recieved an email from them that states they are making their users pay for the service, I dont know how it's going to work. |
