Okay okay. I'm specifically looking for help from folks who use MSIE for Mac, as this problem only shows up in MacSIE!
http://home.columbus.rr.com/vpchrispv

The carrots that trail & bounce behind the mouse pointer leave trails all over Mac-MSIE's window. It doesn't happen in Netscape or MSIE for Windows. Can anyone tell me what I need to fix? The Javascript in question is not mine, though I have altered it to suit my site's needs, and yes, the original Javascript does the same thing. Help? Please?

I do a fair amount of flying stuff around my pages with javascript and I haven't found a fix for this in MSIE on the Mac. I'm afraid it may be something we're stuck with until their next version. If anyone knows a work around I will also be very interested in hearing it. Look on the bright side... hardly anyone uses MSIE on the Mac.

The only reason MSIE is even ON my Mac is for designing around cross-platform problems -- of course, then I found out that what works on Mac Netscape usually works ok on Windows MSIE, too. A fellow Mac friend thinks it may have to do with Apple's Runtime for Java (which MSIE uses & Netscape doesn't), but I'm hoping that someone might have a fix for the problem in the meantime.

I've got other "flyers" on the same site at http://home.columbus.rr.com/vpchrispv/linkmain.html (any of the links OFF that page, and you'll see what I mean), and they don't have the same problem. And darned if I can figure out what THAT does right that the Bouncing Carrots do wrong...

I'm not too familiar with the MAC but can't you adjust the memory usage that IE or the monitor/graphics??
I get this some times on my PC if I've been doing ALOT of memory intensive stuff - This happens on a AMD k6 450 / 128mb ram / and a Voodoo card 16mb ram... and an IMAC is a 350mhz 64 to 128mb ram so there could be a memory issue. I?ve had windows appear open when they are closed IE/ JavaScript fx leave trails or smudge together.

Yar I would have to say that this doesn't seem to be an issue with the script so much as the platform.

A work around would be to turn this stuff off on that platform.

P.S. I'm seeing a lot more of our Mac people around here using IE than I used to.
