Preserved Topic: GIFs with different starting time

Consider an animated GIF file that shows:

2
3
(each number in a second)

is there is a way to load the same GIF file two times but the first is delayed than the 2nd of 1 second?
so:
gif1: 1 -> gif2: 2
gif1: 2 -> gif2: 3
gif1: 3 -> gif2: 1

You could do it in Image Ready by adjusting the delay for each individual frame. You'd just have to repeat the animation within the gif itself.

Not sure off hand exactly how you'd do it, I haven't done an animated gif in forever.

so it can't be done (no matter even gif1 is delayed than gif2) ?

Not only that but some browsers will run at different speeds.

You can achieve this effect with JS and timed image swaps though. I think bugs has a tute somewhere
