You know how download sites, direct you to a page and then a few seconds later the file you want opens for download, I want to learn how to make a file open for download when I load a page, I have never doen this and I couldn't find helpful information on the net... So like always I should have asked it here first...

Why would you want to do that? That whole proccess is annoying. I mean if someone wants to download something just give a link to the file and it will pop-up automaticly. Why force it on someone?

There are some reasons, including going to a page with more info about the download, advertising, tracking/statistics, etc.

Just read an article about this, "Web surfers brace for pop-up downloads", over at Cnet news.com. This is a technology that can be used or abused, used for neato-keen "wizards" to help you get what you were after, and abused by tricking people into installing carp and spyware they didn't want or need. Use with caution.

"a particularly troublesome tactic that some have dubbed 'drive-by download.'"

Now that's amusing!
