Hello plz, take a look at this: http://www.kameelah.org/oz/hideit.htm

oh well, as you see that the 'red' layer is over the green layer, and the green layer has the <select> element.

Why the 'red' layer doesn't cover the form's element too?

is that possible?

Lallous,
I have also noticed this but frankly i have never had a layer just overlaping another layer that had a select on it. My advice would be to make your own SELECT using js. I have exams now or i'd write a more detailed explaination! Sorry and good luck,

so ppl, as i understand from you, you want me to write my own select box item? as if emulating it?

that would be then a sort of a drop down menu, or another way of having the user chose between many choices .. ?

Emps, thanks for the link. I really admire those WebFX people, but all their code works mainly only on IE.

Ini, okay, i care to see what you've got.

anyway, a solution is not a big deal any longer as i changed the site design...

Is there any other solution to this, aside from drawing the select box in js? like InI says, too much work for something like that. but if you have a select box and a draggable div, then everytime you drag over the select boxes they will show right through.

the more i hang around in this crazy home, the harder i find it to hang onto my sanity...

Try using an IFrame. It should overlay most anything since it's another window object behind the scenes.

Thanks hlaford! that works. i put an IFRAME inside an absolutely positioned div. woohoo!

"there has to be a solution."
