Hi.
I need to catch the event before the browser close,
can I catch it?
If I can, is it posible to load another frame and then close the browser (just to notify the server)?

Thanks in advanced
Yossi

you can hook the window.unload event,
then with it put another window.open() that will notify the server.

The event called each time I press F5.
Can I isolate the F5 case?

I don't think so... it happens whenever the page disappears, even if it's going to reappear in a second.

Tell us what you're trying to accomplish with this, and maybe we can give you some ideas on other ways to do it.

I created a menu link wich open new window, this window cause the server to hold a lot of information about the client specific state.
I want to catch the event when the client close the new window for cleaning the server side info.
The client can move to some pages in the new window opened and he can refresh the page (it contains dinamic data).
If I'll catch the window.onUnload the event will be called for each refresh or link to another page.

The poster has demanded we remove all his contributions, less he takes legal action.
We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.
Don't follow his example - seek real life help first.
