The zoom function isn't really for resizing. It just changes the scale of the timeline. The text resizes when you zoom out a lot just so that it doesn't get all mixed up. |

The speed doesn't depend on the CPU so much as how the browser handles the page. Each block of text, each date, and the background are all separate objects, and all of the ones on the screen at one time are constantly being updated. If the browser is smart enough to do some sort of offscreen buffering, it's very fast. Mozilla seems to move the background, then each piece of text individually, each time requiring a full screen refresh. not much that I can easily do about that. |
