It's not very graphic, or pretty, but I think it could use some U.I. help. Anyway, it's called Givetech and it's a mechanism for collecting donations for non-profit companies. Anyway, lemme know what you think.
. . . d e a n p a x t o n . . . |
| Paranoid (IV) Mad Scientist From: EN27 | posted 04-16-2000 18:08 I like it very clean not flashy. What you expect for a non-profit. I've seen a few non-profit web sites that are very flashy and I have to ask myself, just how 'non' is your non-profit.
However two things did jump out at me. |

I will take your recomendations very seriously.
I guess the pre-loading on the left menu does not work due to the frames. Which is what my client insisted upon, frames... bah. That frames doesn't pre-load at all, even though I've stuck a pre-load script in there.
I'm workin on getting them to elimitate the frames all together, then everything will pre-load nicely.
The blue water was just an afterthought. I wanted something to break up the monotony and lead the eye down the page. I will work on another. I do also agree that the yellows are hard on the eyes.
. . . d e a n p a x t o n . . . |
| Obsessive-Compulsive (I) Inmate From: Toronto | posted 04-30-2000 00:05 I'm a "adult" (most days) student in computer graphics and probably haven't been on the web 30 times yet, so these are impressions from a new/older user. Thanks for a site that I can navigate easily around. I hate searching for buttons and having to wait for a rollover to know what the button links to. And thanks for making it easy to go "home". You wouldn't believe how frustrating it is to be a few pages in and have to be pressing that darn back button. Also I appreciate the consistant look to your pages-at least I know I haven't gone to another site! Just take pity on me (and take a page out graphic design) and make all headings and body copy, buttons everything larger if possible. I personally like the clean looking sites 'cuz they are faster. |
