Hi, I was hoping that some folks would give me some feedback on a site I've just finished. It's not very graphic, or pretty, but I think it could use some U.I. help. Anyway, it's called Givetech and it's a mechanism for collecting donations for non-profit companies. Anyway, lemme know what you think.
. . . d e a n p a x t o n . . .

I like it very clean not flashy. What you expect for a non-profit. I've seen a few non-profit web sites that are very flashy and I have to ask myself, just how 'non' is your non-profit.
However two things did jump out at me.
The first being that you may want to pre-load your mouseovers. I didn't realize that there were mouseovers in the blue menu until I had went through several pages.
The second one is more a personal taste. Your background image main_background.jpg is very nice. I like that water effect. However it doesn't match that 'clean' look you have on the intro / main page (main_page_background.jpg). It kind of threw me off I was looking for something special with a background change like that. But as I said that is a personal issue. It does look very nice regardless.
-I'm not a complete idiot,
there are some parts missing.

Very nice. As F1 said, very clean -- nice layout and setup.
The yellow buttons apparently preload, but like F1 said, the blue side mouseover buttons do not -- I wouldn't have known if I hadn't read his post.
I like the water background -- I think it (or something like it) is neccesary to break up all that white -- I would have it on the main page though, so that you don't see on odd transition when you enter the different pages.
The only other thing that jumped out is simply a personal preference: that yellow is *really* bright. It'd be nice to see that toned down just a little. And that's my 2 cents : )
What care I how time advances? I am drinking Ale today. -- Edgar Allen Poe

Thanks very much for you nice remarks. They mean a lot when the site is new, almost like an informal test/criticism. I will take your recomendations very seriously.
I guess the pre-loading on the left menu does not work due to the frames. Which is what my client insisted upon, frames... bah. That frames doesn't pre-load at all, even though I've stuck a pre-load script in there.
I'm workin on getting them to elimitate the frames all together, then everything will pre-load nicely.
The blue water was just an afterthought. I wanted something to break up the monotony and lead the eye down the page. I will work on another. I do also agree that the yellows are hard on the eyes.
. . . d e a n p a x t o n . . .

I'm a "adult" (most days) student in computer graphics and probably haven't been on the web 30 times yet, so these are impressions from a new/older user. Thanks for a site that I can navigate easily around. I hate searching for buttons and having to wait for a rollover to know what the button links to. And thanks for making it easy to go "home". You wouldn't believe how frustrating it is to be a few pages in and have to be pressing that darn back button. Also I appreciate the consistant look to your pages-at least I know I haven't gone to another site! Just take pity on me (and take a page out graphic design) and make all headings and body copy, buttons everything larger if possible. I personally like the clean looking sites 'cuz they are faster.
