I know it's not much for content but that's all the client wants displayed at present. Anyway, I wanted to share this groovy little page with all of you. I welcome any comments you may have.

Hah! That was fun. Can't help but think it'd be more exciting on IE5, that racecar moves a bit slowly in Netscape. I tend to check for browser and use a different speed setting for Netscape. It's a pain, but worth it. Good toy!<P>

Nice page Bruce...would be cool if the car was faster in NSC, and there was a racecar soundfile whizzing by as the car does....<P>Nice splash overall <P>-It's medication time nurse Ratchett-

Pretty neat. The one thing that I don't like about it is that the scrollbar becomes visible and then gets smaller as the car goes off the screen (in IE 5). My suggestion is to put the page in a frameset with another invisible frame, and then use scrolling="no" inside the frame tag so that scroll bars don't appear. Like this...<P>{frameset rows="100%,*" border="0" [etc, etc]}
{frame src="mainpage.htm" scrolling="no"}
{frame src="whatever.htm" scrolling="no"}
{/frameset}<P>(obviously with < and > instead of { and }.)

While I'm at it, I might as well say that this is a great way of getting rid of popup ads on sites. Look at the code that the web page hosting service puts into your page and find the name of the window that they use. Then name your invisible frame with that name (name="popupad" or whatever), et voila the ad is hidden. Just don't let the hosting service find out. =)

Slime, thanks for the tips! I will make use of that tip for my site (http://www.groovyart.8m.com). The splash page for RaceAmerica's site is just temporary while the site is being constructed. It wasn't meant to necessarily be 'awesome', just an appetizer until the main course is served.
