Hi folks, I was using older versions of Illustrator and Photoshop and just upgraded. I can no longer access True Type fonts that are located in Windows\fonts\. Maybe I'm dreaming, but it seems like they were accessible from those programs before the new installation. Any ideas, answers, or comments would be appreciated.

Damn I got nearly same problem than you have! I erased some fonts and now I have installed them again but it won't show them in photoshop. It shows them in windows pain but not in ps!!!

i don't have this problem but something funny is happeing to my fonts in ps5.5
some fonts aren't displayed in alphabetical order, they are fonts that begin with f at the end, after those that begin with z
i think this happened because right after i had win reinstalled i messed with the fonts folder so much that it didn't display the fonts' names but the real names(dos style), maybe you might try only installing fonts via menu/file/install new font rather than just copying it
who knows, really?

haven't experienced this...

2 possible solutions (not near photoshop now)

1) preferences, see if there is an option to initialize new fonts.

2) reinstall photoshop, so that the program will reload fonts stored in the font directory.
