I dled DocOzone's wood textures, and they are nice and all, but what I really need is a high resolution wood grain image. I've searched for tutorials, but everything I've found looks pretty janky.
Anyone got a good source image?

Best thing to do would be to do what Doc did to get those textures. Can you get access to a Digital Camera, cause if you can, then go down to your local timberyard, or pine furniture store, and simply take digital photos of the wood, and then use doc's seamless texture hands-on tutorial to turn it into a texture worth having. But if you recon Doc's aren't good enough, check out what I made with them for my *still* upcoming site, Ride The Wave.

Did Doc really make that himself by scanning in woodgrain? I found the same background over at some free texture site. Which came first? ;P

Anyway, I just ended up using Doc's since no one responded to this message very quickly. I'll post up what I've done with it shortly.

If you have a digital camera, just go out to your deck and take a picture (assuming you have a wood deck) I did that a while back for an interface I made. I dont think i still have it anywhere but it looked cool. It was different because it wasnt new wood, kinda a little faded, dirty, normal wood basically.
