I have photoshop 5.0 and been trying to change the white background to midnight blue or something similar to make a cloudy sky in the night. Can anybody tell me how to fix it up?
#2: Which is the best way to do mountains? I've been trying with the lasso effect and layers but I'm wondering if there is a better way?

You have to choose the color you want, then select the background layer. go to "edit >> fill" then choose "foreground color" at 100% and normal mode.

Just select the color you want, either as foreground color, or background color.

If you chose it as foreground, select the background layer (or use the magic wand tool if you only have one layer) and press alt + backspace.

If you chose it as background color, do the same thing, except with ctrl + backspace.

Now, the best way to make mountains is by using Bryce 3d, but since you're asking about photoshop, I'm clueless. Im not sure of a good way to make mountains in photoshop, maybe use a real photograph, scan it, and cut out the mountains? I'll see if I can make a simple tutorial for this...
