f*ck 'dat, it can be done in 10-60 seconds (depending on your skill, lol) use flash, export as a .gif, then laugh at all the bastards that took 20 minutes to make it using a gif animator!

here's a quickie that uses some fade and other stuff, its 15 frames, 6k, and it took 5 minutes to make.

And come on....5 minutes in Flash?...you think you'd at least import a bitmap background, or be less perfunctory, and make it transparent. <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/wink.gif">

yea, five minutes....
type letters, make each letter a symbol, resize, rotate, and adjust alpha on each letter, place in desired position for good effect, that seems like it would take 5 minutes to me...

For those of us that can't afford Flash though... there ARE animated gif programs that you can use. Just save several images of the same thing but with the text layer at a different opacity each time. Then load them all up in the animator and save the gif.

That's the address for a great little gif animation program, it's trialware, with a very small registration price after you've tried it for "a reasonable amount of time".
