Preserved Topic: Help on some basics please. (Page 1 of 1)

Hey I was wondering if anyone new some good tutorials that explained some of the basics of Photoshop/Graphic design. I am extremely green and I can use Photoshop to a decent level. My problem is I need to know some of the information behind what I am doing. Example a basic explanations of channels and how they work,an overview of basic tools and filters and file format information. Like I said I am making good progress, I just want to know what makes these things tick.Any help will be appreciated.

I don't want to sound rude, but before asking these questions (which have been asked and answered multiple times), we would really appreciate it if you would search the forum first.

Btw.. don' jump into tutorials at first. Start off by buying books such as the photoshop 5 bible (*grin*) and familiarize yourself with all the functions... with that in mind, you don't need them silly tutorials. of course. you can always try actions at actionxchange.com
