Hey guys just looking for a few tips on how to make a broken or shattered effect for a background, something that looks damaged...

Thanks that is a tutorial I have been using and going back to it has helped me somewhat. It is a great damaged look which I like alot. Now I just need to figure out a "shattered look" I try my best to figure these things out through trial and error as that helps me learn alot.I just can't figure a shattered look to save my life.If you know any hints to help me out you guys have helped me so far. Thanks
