Preserved Topic: A perfect circle logo i made (Page 1 of 1)

well i did this for a site im makeing in my web design class.

Very nice. If it's not too late to offer suggestions, I'd recommend blurring that horizontal line that goes through the text a little more, and maybe increasing it's transparency. It kinda looks like it's crossing out the text. But I like it. =)

Does it bother anyone else that it's not a perfect circle?

Just kidding, I like it. I agree about the line through the text, though.

Maynard is an awesome singer/performer... but A Perfect Circle just isn't Tool... only suggestion I can offer, is make it Tool.. <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/frown.gif">

Not that I don't like A Perfect Circle, they're an excellent band and all... just not as good as Tool was, imho of course. <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/wink.gif">

Am I the only one haveing trouble reading the words thru the glow? Need some contrasting color between the text and the glow I think

I can read it fine, I think you need glasses, Steve. Oh, and it's a very good graphic, how'd you make the texture/lighting effect?

wow the frist time i was asked how i did an effect ok well i used bevel and emboss on a grey layer and then made a brown layer with and changed the layer mode to soft light and then put a blured oval over it as for te cracks i just made a layer mask and used the pencil and drew the lines were i wanted and then blured it by 1 pixle if u want it more detialed i can tell more

The graphic looks fine matt. I think its a little big and the text just doesnt look right with that line through it either. I would blur the line, make it more transparent or get rid of it. Try and do something more with the text too. Perhaps add an interesting texture or something. Also you should add a drop shadow over the little bone looking circle things.
