ok i want to get the layers of my deisgn into flash so i can move the objects around. but when i import them into fireworks it doesnt look the same. im guessing because on the layers i was using a color dodge blend. is there anyway i can get these layers to look corectly into flash and have the objects be movable? THANKS

select the area you want for the layer -- hit "copy merged" and paste it onto a new layer (or into fireworks or whatever). That will copy everything visible for the area you selected, as it appears.

Just cut and paste each layer as a separate layer in Flash.

I love Flash... too bad it's so expensive. I used it for a short time at my last job... until the trial period was up. Once you're trial period is up, there's nothing you can do to try it another 30 days.

Well, technically, you could reinstall your OS. I actually know a guy who has a seperate partition with all his trial software. He wipes the partition and reinstalls the whole thing every 30 days.
Big hassle, but he ends up with free DreamWeaver, FireWorks, Rhino, Flash, etc, etc.

Okay, let's start real simple: what are you creating the graphics in?

If Photoshop, and you are using various blending options, then what I said is what you need to do.

As far as the Flash end of it -- I know nothing about flash and what being movable entails.

If not, then just ignore me

OK.....that doesnt work. it would work but it puts a white box around the image. i made something in photoshop and i need to keep the blurs and blends but would like to have all the objects that are blured and blended to be manipuatable in flash.

You can use the trace bitmap feature in flash tbot. Then you can delete the white area. Oh and if you do it at maxiumum trace you will be waiting a while.

Save the picutes in photoshop in jpg or bitmap and import them into flash. then trace bitmap them. It works I just did it.

Well if you are using layer options to get a certain look from an interaction between two layers, and you want to import those 2 layers seperately into Flash and manipulate them you are doomed to failure. The layer options are done by Photoshop, and you could only achieve the same effect if Flash had the same layer options.
