Hi, I was wondering if someone could verify for me a bug in the Color Dodge layer mode in Photoshop 6? And if it does exist, is there a fix out for it yet and where? |

Yup... that is a known 'bug' or issue in PS6... I havent got 6 so I havent got any first hand experience with it but there were a few posts here a while ago about it. I have found one of them in the archives and I think there is another one (only had time to find one).... also in that post there is a link to an explanation of a possible fix. Again I havent verified the fix. Below are the two URLs and I would also check out the adobe website/forums for further information. Hope that helps |

This is sort of besides the point, but I really don't think this is a "bug". Actually, I think the v.5.x was the buggy one. Speaking as a photographer, 5.x's idea of a color "dodge" was pretty heavy handed. The new version is closer to what I'd expect from a )darkroom-based) dodge. Trouble is, everyone sorta got used to the effect of the old one, so the "improvement" didn't go over so hot |

Hm yeah... like some of the tuts I've seen (Darkgarden's "Drip") work quicker if the color dodge (and burn) layers have transparency for selection purposes... I had to find a workaround, and its kindof a pain... But I'll stop whining now. |
