I've been starting to use that a bit more lately. It's actually quite amazing what you can do with the polars - does anybody know if the twirl filter that comes with PS is actually based on Polar Coordinates?

The twirl filter is *not* based on polar coordinates.

I don't know the exact mathematics behind it, but I know for a fact that it is not based on polar coordinates. Anyone know the math?

it spins the image around while applying a streak effects to it...it keeps the image aspect ratio the same (so if the left edge to top edge ration is 1:2, it'll remain that way...so it'll be a wide, low ellipse shape).

So...there you go...I think.
