Do we presume yur using Photoshop?

if so there are several ways.... (depending on the backgrund you are trying to extract the shape from)

a. Extract Tool (*gags*) yee haw. well thats imho lol

b. Magic Wand Tool (*gags*) not as yee haw... but still lame

c. Quick Mask Tool (*not bard - quick*) but still replies on your abilities with a mouse/tablet.

d. Create a full blown difference mask (*major YUMMY*) use the attribute of the image to create the selection

and theres probably others.. like using a hand drawn path (pen tool) which gives good soft selections but is a bitch to master and is a bit time consuming..

Welcome to the Asylum btw *chunders*

Where are they extract and quick mask tools? Wouldn't the difference mask leave in everything else in the picture?

I've never gone wrong with a mask myself. Just use a small brush close to the body in areas that are more important.

Example:

lol krets

It's nice to see your present condition hasn't blunted your sense of humor.

[edit] In case you're confused ntrmsd, the edit in the picture was the couple and not their beautifully drawn smiley faces. The .psd will give you more info. [/edit]
